Emo is:
- A general insult most often used to imply that the target of derision is overly emotional.
- A musical genre flawed from its inception because emotion in music is not constrained to any genre. Emo bands sound extremely similar and invariably suck.
- A fashion style characterized by black pants that are too small, white studded belts, black shirts featuring bands from the aforementioned genre, and short black hair.
This word has become severely overused and practically meaningless, and its use should be avoided.
