A ban is most often used to prohibit a user, IP address or range of addresses from accessing a resource on the internet. It was invented by General Phineas Banning in 1884 after he was hit by a streetcar, which he subsequently banned.

rmuser banned the country of Korea from EMPTV after a series of DDoSes. Australia, the town of Renfrewshire in Scotland, and Billings, Montana were once banned from 17chan for being full of idiots. Banning is one of rmuser's favorite pastimes, and he is constantly engineering new ways to ban.

  • Soup4Brains: The only place I've been permanently banned from was 17chan, because Blindhaberdasher started a poll to ban me the moment I joined.
n****r.
  • Dark_Sage: It's getting hard to remember which sites I've been banned from. I think I have 8 under my belt and only two were intentional. Most of the sites just kept on banning me after I kept coming back. Silly mods, always trying to solve things through IP bans.
  • Tenebrae Vision: Ya know, I've been trying to be relaxed and less stringent.. but you people just like to take advantage of it and turn into spamming assholes whenever you're given an INCH.
I confess I'm pretty sick of this shit and want to skip the entire suspension process and just ban you people. You never learn, ever. I won't, but damn I want to tongue.gif
