What Are You Thinking?

What Are You Thinking? (WAYT) is the first thread you should think of when you think of the ABS Forums. Originally created by Dirty Harry, it's exactly what you would expect from the title-a thread in which people post what they're thinking. It could be considered the successor to the How Big Are Your Boobies? thread. In the first versions of this thread, it was not very heavily moderated, and as such, these threads always degenerated into AOL-speak chats, people posting for attention, Karma grabassing with her friends, and people posting purely to watch their post count go up.
As time went on, WAYT was more heavily moderated, with posts being trimmed out of it and restrictions that were actually enforced being placed on it, such as limiting the number of pages (usually 50) in each week's WAYT thread and limiting the number of times somebody could post in it. Unfortunately, trying to place reasonable restrictions on a forum that consists of 13-year-olds who watch Banana Phone and Badger Badger Badger religiously is along the lines of Bill Clinton coming in and asking the Palestinians and Israelis to get along. Threads of this type were banned after several unsuccessful attempts to regulate it, people got banned because of posting new ones, and it's just overall a horrible idea; yet, it's the best that ABS can come up with.
It has recently been recreated under the title of "Chit Chat", presumably so Tenebrae Vision wouldn't have to break her promise that WAYT was never coming back. It can be considered the "off-topic" thread of ABS since it exists for people to make single posts of nonsense that don't fit into any other established thread. Even with it's new rule system it's still a completely idiotic idea because the Chit-Chat section of ABS is essentially an off-topic forum. But because the moderators have delusional ideas of what is actually considered content they remove any post they personally don't find interesting and place it in a thread called "Chit chat thread off topic". This is three levels of off-topic content we're dealing with here, and all they're all pretty much equal in value.
Although not directly related, the "lounge" threads that many sections of ABS feature can also be considered successors of the original WAYT. Originally created for the Debate forum to use for general 'intellectual' discussion, they've spread to every section and are completely unmoderated. Also they're all pinned for some reason, I guess ABS feels that off topic contentless posts are important and need to be the first thing anyone sees when they enter a forum.
