EMPTV

EMPTV is a website created by rmuser in April of 2004 as a successor to an earlier personal site. It quickly amassed a number of intelligent people from the ABS Forums, and it spawned the Framework (now 17chan) forum in June of 2004 after rmuser left ABS. The site's community has worked on many projects, including absforums.net (cancelled), Interdex and distributed computing. After the April 2, 2005 ABS Forums takeover, which several EMPTV users participated in, the community achieved a degree of notoriety and was frequently blamed for events it had no involvement in. Nowadays, EMPTV usually features semi-regular updates about the local internet, drama, science, coding, and time travel, among other things. While the addition of a reply function on the front page has been criticized, this feature led to the discovery of Muse's true identity.
